There are two categories in which the production of energy is abused in
Canada: Spoiling the Environment - It is clearly impossible to supply Canada with the energy it needs without producing pollution or spending money that we don't have. The burning of coal, oil, natural gas, and other resources causes pollution to the air, which produces acid rain and destroys the environment. The radioactive material that a nuclear plant creates when splitting uranium lasts up to 100,000 years and is very hazardous to all breathing things. Treatment of People - People in Canada have abused the privilege of Energy in Canada by the amount of energy each Canadian uses daily. Also, by the way we choose to use the energy. Solutions to how Canada abuses production of energy: Spoiling the Environment - To solve the problems of overall environmental pollution, Canada should set a goal to produce energy from renewable sources that create near to nil pollution. Also, Canada could take higher measures to undo the pollution by operating more filters on smoke stacks, use air-cleaning devices, and plant trees around the power plants. Treatment of People - There are many ways in which we as citizens of Canada can help prevent the amount of energy that we use. We could turn down our furnaces in the winter and air-conditioners in the summer. Also, we could keep our lights and radios off if we aren't in the room. Overall we could just use electricity less, use it like it doesn't grow on trees. |
